Dove's newest line of deodorants, Dove Zero Percent, is gaining attention from claims including being aluminum and alcohol free along with actually being 25% moisturizer.
We wondered what that would mean at the consumer end. This blogger loves natural and gentle products as much as anyone, but when we are talking about products that stop funny smells I usually want the heavy hitter on principle. Fortunately, we had the chance to try this out for free and here is what we found.
First impressions are everything. Opening the package I saw.... A stick of Dove deodorant. Not necessarily a bad thing. It is a well established and effective brand. Moving on.
On second thought it does have a special something. The stick is almost translucent. The cucumber melon scent was definitely there, but in a background won't interfere with other perfumes or body sprays way. The translucence of the product was just begging to be swiped across something black just to see if it would pass the white mark test. After trying it out on black slacks, a fuzzy hoodie, and a tank top we were a go for human testing.
A quick shower and two swipes to the armpit later and we were a go on field tests. The product seemed lotiony and absorbed leaving the skin feeling completely bare and clean. That is great, but it doesn't count if it doesn't last or do the job. Hours later the skin still felt soft, no gross clumps where it rubbed into bits, and no hint of the smell changing we have to conclude that this deodorant really does keep you smelling without alcohol or aluminum while moisturing your sensitive underarms into baby softness.

And thanks so much to Dove for letting us try this one out!!
